    African National Congress (ANC) – Soldier in Umkonto-we-Sizwe (MK) and in 1988 became Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence.

    1990 – 1992

    Cooperative College, Lusaka, Zambia – Qualified in the management of co-operatives.

    Pan-African Institute of Development – Qualified in management of development projects.

    1992 – 1994

    Independent Development Trust – Headed the Drought Relief Programme.

    1994 – 1996

    Nampak Packaging – Director of Corporate Affairs.

    1998 – Present

    Formed black empowerment consortium, Katleho Linkages which holds shared in:

    • Sigma Logistic Solutions (integrated logistics support)
    • Intertechnic Contracting
    • IFG Africa

    2003 – 2012

    Promoted to rank of Major General (Reserves) and simultaneously appointed Chief of the South African Army Reserve.

    General Manager of the SA Army Foundation since 2004.

    Director at Aretay Engineering and acting on as part of the ministerial task team on military veterans.

    Graduated with B(Eng) Electronics from Stellenbosch University in 1981.

    1982 - 1983

    National Service in the Signal Corps of the SA Army.

    1984 – 1987

    Armscor – Project manager in the Radar Division

    1987 - 1989

    Seconded to Milistan, an Armscor affiliate, to do Systems Engineering on the South African Space Programme.

    1989 – 1991

    Atlas Aircraft Corporation – Avionics Integration Manager on the Rooivalk Attack Helicopter.

    1991 – 2007

    Advanced Technology & Engineering (ATE) – Programme Manager and appointed as Company Director in 1993 and later served as Managing Director for 6 years.
    Extensive experience in Aviation and other Military Product Systems. 

    2007 – 2010

    Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR) – Project Procurement Manager for the nuclear reactor components and infrastructure. Extensive experience in acquisition for a major infrastructure programme within the South African Government acquisition legislation.

    Megkon Systems Technology (MST) – Founding Managing Director of Asset & Supply Chain Management software company MST.

    1999 – 2004

    I2 Technologies of Irwing TX – Country manager for the world’s most prominent supply chain management software company.

    2004 – 2008

    Polybond – Joint owner and Managing Director of this major Pretoria based non-woven textiles manufacturing company.

    2009 – Current

    Vetasi – Part owner of MAXIMO distribution and implementation company for most of Africa.

    Aretay Engineering – Part owner and Systems Engineering Manager.
